END OF AN ERA
As many of you have probably heard, CJ's Landing will be closing it's doors at the Buckhead location on Saturday June 2nd of this year. We at CJ's would like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone for supporting the bar over the past 19 years. This is a bitter sweet event for us here at CJ's.Despite persistent pressure, we believed that the rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated. However, due to a few "other's" political and financial motivations (AKA deep pocketed developers) we are left with no other choice but to shut our doors a tad prematurely. On the other hand, we believe our loyal patrons and friends have put us in a position to reopen CJ's in another location without the constant threat of impending doom hanging over our heads. This is what we intend to do. However, finding an available space with the right combination of size, character, and locale in order to recreate that which has become CJ's is a logistical nightmare.
So, in the interim, as some already know, we have made the purchase of an amazing bar in Little 5 Points called the Star Community Bar. The Star Bar is right up our alley. A local legend in its own right, the Star Bar is one of the most respected and intimate live music venues that Atlanta has to offer. It's eclectic blend of indie rock, punk, and rockabilly is reknowned throughout the industry and has created a very loyal and diverse following. If you have never been to the Star Bar on a Tuesday night for the 70's and 80's stylings of DJ Romeo Cologne, you are missing out on one of the most unique experiences in the city.
We have also been fortunate enough to purchase a second bar called The Tin Roof Cantina located on Briarcliff Road near the intersection of North Druid Hills. The Tin Roof has two amazing patios with both covered and non covered areas as well as an indoor area with a stage (look for your favorite cj's artists). The bar has excellent food, boasting a mostly TEX-MEX menu. Amazingly, we will be able to stay open until 4am on most nights as well as for lunch and dinner, 7 days a week.
Neither of these bars are, nor do we want them to be, a substitute for CJ's. We are actively looking for the new location for our favorite bar but want to make sure we get it right. Hopefully, we will find the new location sooner than later but be assured that when we do it will have all the aspects of CJ's that you have grown to love. So please sign up on our email list and keep checking back on our website -www.cjslanding.com ("contact us" section ) - for updates on our progress. In the mean time we would love for you to come join us and all your favorite CJ's bartenders at our new ventures. We know you won't be dissapointed.
Thank you--
Stephen, Talley and Jack
